DERBY ZAGREB 2025. Training 7

This morning we held our seventh training session from 50 km from Vrhovec. The weather was very nice, sunny with a pleasant temperature of 18 c. The birds left the release site without a single circle, straight towards the pigeon loft. That was beautiful. The speed was 1,408 m/s, which is fantastic for training. I was honestly waiting for us to move as far away from the pigeon loft as possible with training. Our short release sites are in quite hilly areas, in very populated areas. It is not easy for the birds to immediately get their bearings, especially when birds of prey are also bothering them. Also, our quality release sites are not easy to find. We are now training with a fairly large truck that cannot access all the small roads and fields. Sometimes we drive for days by car to first check where we can release the pigeons from training.

But even these troubles of ours are coming to an end. Because…at the beginning of this year we bought a new truck, which we designed ourselves. Geraldy came out to meet us and listened to our ideas and will turn it into reality! It will be the first OLR truck in Europe.

We are very excited, it was supposed to be finished last month, but Geraldy promised us that it will be ready at the beginning of August. Let’s move on… we are looking forward to what is next. The big show is starting soon. I would like to do 2 more training sessions before the first race!
