Algarve great derby team (11/09/2024):
1st Place: Rogero Joao from Herman & Dennis Beverdam – The Netherlands

Today marked the second race in our series of five over 200 km, this time covering a distance of 218 km. It was our most challenging race yet, with at least 2.5 hours of flight time! The morning brought some fog and low clouds along parts of the route, so we had to wait an extra half-hour for a safe release. This delay meant we faced warmer conditions on arrival – a toasty 28°C – but we managed to master it like champs! 
The winds were tricky today, shifting along the way. Some of us arrived flying low against a headwind, while others came in high, catching a helpful tailwind. The arrivals were quite a sight, with some spectacular landings and a few of us pushing through the high temperatures with grit and determination.
These tough conditions are exactly the kind of challenges that make us stronger, preparing us week by week for the big final!

It just goes to show the spirit of equality here in our loft – every pigeon gets a fair chance, and may the best win!
