• This regulation and the values presented in it refer to the participation of 1000 Teams (3+3) equivalent to 3000 Paid Athletes.

• If this number is not reached, all values and other criteria will be adjusted according to the percentage of Paid Athletes.
• Reserve Athletes are not considered Paid Athletes until the moment they are activated, and the organization undertakes to disclose the amounts in dispute until July 15, 2022, values that may be updated depending on the final activations if the organization so deems it .

1.Participation is open to all Pigeons / Athletes, national and international, and all must have an official ring approved by the Association / Portuguese Federation of Pigeon racing / International Pigeon Federation (FCI) of the year 2022. All Participants must be Club Members Pigeon Bias do Sul with the Quality of Participating Members and therefore pay the respective annual fee.
2. The participation price of each team will be €500, composed of 6 Athletes (3+3), 3 of which will be effective and 3 Reserves. All Participating Members who send more than 12 Athletes will be divided into groups of 12 due to the participation of the Algarve Great Derby in the FCI Pigeons Grand Prix. €250 will refer to the annual fee (VAT-exempt) and €250 will refer to registration for the event (VAT included at the rate of 23%)
3. These Groups must be identified by the participant, otherwise the organization reserves the right to group them randomly. Reserve Athletes, will participate in all events entitled to all values in dispute until the 3rd ACE Pigeon Race, if they reach the semi -Final and Final and the team still has 4, 5 or 6 elements, the Reserve Athletes must be activated to participate in the following 2 events (Semi Final & Final) by paying an Extra Registration fee of €150 (VAT included at the rate 23%) per athlete.
If the Participating Member does not activate them, they can be activated by third parties, in which case the value corresponding to these Athletes, which may eventually be attributed to them, will be for the person who activated it. Reserve Athletes will always participate in the Semi Final & Final Test, and are part of the classification of the team in which he was entered.
Reserve Athletes cannot change teams even if they belong to the same Participating Member.
Bank charges for transfers to the Algarve Great Derby/Clube Columbófilo Bias do Sul are the responsibility of the person making the transfer, no cost associated with transfers can be charged to the Club.
4. There will be an activation period exclusive to the owner and the last 48 hours of the activation period will be extended to third parties if the pigeons are not yet activated, this information will be exclusively on the website www.algarvegreatderby.com, so your consultation is essential.
Very Important: All Reserve Athletes must be activated to be entitled to the values to be awarded in the Semi-Final and Final Event, if the team still maintains the 4, 5 or 6 elements.
In the event that some 1, 2 or 3 team members are no longer present, the reserve Athletes will be automatically activated depending on the respective case.
The Pigeons of the 9+1 Bidding Teams are all automatically activated.
Athletes Offered in the 9+1 Offer will not count as Paid Athletes.
5. The Participant-Partner who activated the Athlete for the final will be entitled to the value attributed to the Athlete and not to the auction value of the same, this value will be from the Participant-Partner who sent the Athlete as well as material prizes that the Athlete may eventually receive to win.
Note: ALGARVE GREAT DERBY DOES NOT EXCHANGE WITH OTHER OLR OR OWNERS OF OTHER ONE LOFT RACES.
All Pigeons/Athletes must be titled in the individual name of the Member-Participant or in the name of a team chosen by him.
(No OLR Owner will benefit from special conditions for Participation in the Algarve Great Derby, even having to activate their Reserve pigeons if this activation is requested on the Website www.algarvegreatderby.com).
6. Each Member-Participant can register the teams he wants, and a Member – Participant who registers 9 teams, the organization will offer a free team 9+1 Team
Since the free team all Athletes are activated. Groups of participating Members may be formed to take advantage of the offer team as long as the team name has something in common.
7. The reception of Borrachos Athletes takes place from March 01 to June 15, 2022, and must be accompanied by the respective property title and Pedigree with the address and contact of the Owner as well as the IBAN number in which they wish to receive the values assigned to Pigeons. The Member’s Taxpayer Number must be provided to the organization at the time of registration or renewal.
8. If any Athlete is lost in the adduction, he can be replaced until May 31, 2022, without extra costs, the Participating Members will be contacted by the organization whenever a replacement is necessary, the Participating Members are responsible for the expenses of bringing the substitute pigeon at the Columbodrome. 9. Babies for adduction must be between 40 and 50 days old and will be housed in the Columbófilo Club Columbófilo Bias do Sul Columbódromo built for this purpose, being the responsibility of the Clube Columbófilo Bias do Sul Board of Directors.
10. Pigeons must be vaccinated against PMV within 20 days prior to dispatch. (MANDATORY)

If the transport is carried out by air, the destination airport must be Faro.
After entering the loft, the pigeons are taken care of by the Board of the Clube Columbófilo de Bias do Sul, and the 150 First Classifieds of the Final Event become their property after the organization pays the Participating Members the stipulated amounts (amounts in dispute ) in order of Classification, which corresponds to the purchase price of the pigeon by the organization.
11. Pigeons must be accompanied by the vaccination certificate from the country of origin, this being an essential rule for the participation of pigeons in the Algarve Great Derby. Ownership card (Mandatory) and pedigree in a sealed envelope that will only be opened by the organization after the final release.
It has become a mandatory rule of the Portuguese Pigeon Racer Federation All pigeons participating in OLR in Portugal have Property Title in order to effectively participate in the OLR, so all pigeons that do not have Property Titles will have to be requested to the FPC and the The cost of €2 per pigeon will be charged to the participant as he has not sent the originals along with the transport of the Pigeons.
There is the possibility of participation of pigeons from third countries and these pigeons are subject to a period of Quarantine to be carried out at the Quarantine Center of the Portuguese Pigeon Pigeon Federation, this cost being the responsibility of the Participating Members.

• AUCTION
All Athletes/Pigeons can be Auctioned after the final race on behalf of the Member-Participant, the organization of the Algarve Great Derby can coordinate, the sales of pigeons with National and International Auction companies, hire Photographers and pay other expenses inherent to the sales . After being sold, the Organization will withdraw from the sale value, the amounts spent on the sale, taxes, photographs and commissions from the auction companies, and will send to the owner 50% of the remaining amount, the other 50% will be delivered to Clube Columbófilo de Southern Bias as a commission for your service.
All Participating Members are entitled to % of the sale value of their athletes as long as they present pedigree in the sale.
If the Athletes are not accompanied by a complete pedigree (Father, Mother and Grandparents) or if they do not enter the race until the Final Event, the Participant-Partner will not be entitled to his % of the Athlete/Pigeon Sale Value.
If the Athlete/Pigeon returns to the auction for a second time, this amount reverts to the organization, and the participant is not entitled to any amount.
The values of the auctions will be credited to the participants’ accounts only after their delivery and good collection, so if the pigeon is returned due to non-payment, the participant will be informed.
VERY IMPORTANT
Algarve Great Derby does not have a Sales Website, so the auctions will be organized by Websites chosen by the organization but independent, all payments for pigeons purchased at auction must be made to the websites where they were bid.
12. You can register via email geral@algarvegreatderby.com , or directly on the website www.algarvegreatderby.com, after which, within 15 days, you must pay 10% of the value of your Quota, to guarantee your participation.
The Algarve Great derby has a loft limited to 6000 pigeons.
13. In case of withdrawal, this amount is non-refundable. The registration can be paid in cash, or by bank transfer, in this case with expenses paid by the sender.
14. The basketing for the Competitions, semi final and final will be organized by the technical council of the pigeon fancier group of Bias do Sul, with the supervision of elements of the technical councils of our partner communities, the Final will have the supervision of the designated FCI Elements for the Effect. The pigeons will be accompanied to the release site by elements of the technical councils of our partner communities who will supervise the release that will be carried out with the support of a national meteorologist appointed by the FPC.
15. In the loft, the Athletes/pigeons will be regularly analyzed by the official Veterinarian
16. Any eventuality that gives rise to a conflict not covered by this regulation will be resolved by the organization, and this decision will be sovereign.
17. The official regulations will be in Portuguese and will be posted on the event’s website, as any translation into another language may cause misunderstandings.
18. The pigeons will be housed in the Columbódromo of the Columbófilo club in Bias do Sul and in order to have the same conditions for all pigeons, they will only have perches and there will be no separation of sexes.
19. There will be 5 contests at the Algarve Great Derby 2022, including semi-final, final plus Ace Pigeon Championship. €250,000.00 (Two hundred and fifty thousand Euros) in case 3,000 Paid Pigeons enter.
20. To win the Ace PIGEON, the pigeon must participate in the final race and rank within the ACE PIGEON classification – In case of a tie in averages after the completion of the 5 races, the pigeon with the best classification in the final race will be the winner of the POMBO ACE award.
Criterion of observation time
In all ACE PIGEON races, classification ends after 8 hours from the arrival of the first pigeon, discounting dead hours (if any).
21. The pigeons that do not return, within the time of verification in the final race, will not be included in this PIGEON ACE competition. (Until the end of the 2nd day of verification).
22. The winner will be the pigeon with the highest average sum of the 5 contests, including semi final and final race, if no race is performed counting for the Ace Pigeon, to find the winner the races performed are counted.
23. The dovecote is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Algarve, 5000m from one of the 7 natural wonders of Portugal, the ria formosa. It is 5 kilometers from the magnificent city of Olhão, birthplace of the Ria Formosa and famous for its islands (Island of Fuseta and Armona) and gastronomy (seafood and fish) and just 15 kilometers from Faro International Airport.
The administration of the event is in charge of a team, all of them with many years of experience in pigeon racing and event organization.

The system for verifying the arrival of pigeons in training and competitions is an official electronic system authorized by the FPC de Marca Benzing.
24. The Dovecote is equipped with the new Speed antennas capable of registering more than 1000 pigeons per minute without missing a single registration. With this we want to give participants a guarantee of reliability in the results presented, the results can be followed in all tests in the live OLR system of the benzing brand prepared for the OLR. The electronic system is an FPC approved system.
25. All practices and events to be disputed and scheduled, may be changed for meteorological reasons, or other unrelated to the organization. The organization’s decision is sovereign.
26. All pigeons that enter the loft will be given an electronic chip, the loft will provide equal conditions for all athletes and there will be no separation of sex and only perches will be available.
27. All disputed amounts will be subject to applicable taxes. Given the binding opinion of the AT for athletes from Portugal, the amounts to be attributed will be subject to withholding at source for IRS purposes, a value that is currently 25%, which however may change according to national law.
28. All Participating Members, when making the payment of the Share, consider themselves informed of all the points of this regulation.
29. Participation only becomes effective after all amounts due have been paid (quota and registration), and if payment is not made, registration/participation is canceled before basketing the final race, even if the pigeons participate in it, activated by the 3rd.
30. National rules on non-use of drugs will be used in the loft and visits by the official veterinarian will be constant.
31. The organization will send invitations to institutions in the municipality of Olhão, in order to obtain their participation so that these athletes can participate in the Algarve Great Derby, the revenue of these pigeons after the expenses of organizing the auction will be its entirety to the participating entities, the organization not wanting any amount. These support will be given as a donation. These pigeons will participate in all races up to the Semi-final and the best of these pigeons classified in the ace pigeon will win the right to participate in the final race of the Algarve Great derby.
32. The Organization will make venture birds available to be activated by participating members or by third parties, these venture birds will have a cost of €150 VAT included and will participate in the races winning the disputed amounts from the moment they are activated, if they are not activated the value passes to the immediately following activated pigeon.
Venture pigeons on auction will give 30% to the Participating Partner who activated it after all costs and taxes have been deducted.
33. If a non-activated pigeon of a participating partner wins a disputed value, this value reverts to the organization.
