RACE 3
Flying 3 hours under the sun – the heat test is on!

Hello friends, it’s Ringo checking in again!
Today we had our Race 3, flying 241 km – and wow, what a race it was!
The conditions were far from easy. Almost no wind all the way, and then just a light headwind waiting for us at the loft. The temperatures started high already at release and kept climbing quickly, hitting around 30 °C by arrival, while the humidity dropped fast. Not exactly the kind of weather you’d order for an easy flight!
In the last couple of weeks, part of our training program included flying twice a week under heavy sun and 35 °C to get used to these conditions – and today we saw how much that preparation paid off. For the first time this season, we had to fly a solid 3 hours to get home, and the results showed how ready we are:
50% of the pigeons trapped within 17 minutes of the first arrival
75% within 30 minutes – a fantastic sign of physical and mental strength across the loft
The arrivals were steady, the rhythm was good, and the trainers were clearly proud of how the team handled today’s challenge. Now it’s all about recovering well – because the next stop is the semi-final, the last barrier before the big showdown in the final!
