Algarve great derby team (05/08/2024)
On the training 1 we made an individual basketing to make sure all rings were assigned correctly and are working, but from now on the pigeons will be basketed without basketing registration, to avoid long basketing process during the hot afternoons. Thanks for your understanding and good luck for training!!!
Ringo’s Report: Training 2 at the Algarve Great Derby
Hello again, feathered friends and loyal followers! It’s Ringo, your trusty pigeon reporter, with the latest update from our loft at the Algarve Great Derby. Today, we completed our second road training, and it was a significant step forward.
Training 2: A Mountain Challenge
Today’s training took us 11 kilometers from the loft, right in the middle of a small mountain about 400 meters high. This terrain is part of our future race route, making it crucial for our learning.
The Release
The day started early with excitement buzzing in the loft. After a familiar truck ride, we were released to face the mountain. Swift, ever the leader, inspired confidence as we navigated the new terrain. Some of us took to it naturally, while others took a bit longer to adjust.
Finding Our Way Home
Crossing the mountain was a test of our stamina and navigation skills. Once over, we raced back to the loft, with groups forming and some pigeons finding their way faster than others. Seeing the loft again was a relief and a triumph.
A Successful Training
We’re proud to report that nearly all pigeons made it home. Each session builds our confidence and hones our skills. The trainers were pleased with our progress and welcomed us back warmly.
Looking Ahead
Our next training is on Wednesday, covering 24 kilometers. It’s going to be our longest yet, and we’re ready for the challenge.
